This is a convenient, easy to use balm which can be used for both muscle pain and skin ailments.
CBD has a long list of health benefits which you can find out about here . CBD is most commonly consumed orally, whether it’s in the form of droplets, capsules or gummies. But did you know that CBD can also be used topically?
For thousands of years, extracts from cannabis plants have been used to heal wounds and skin problems. Today, CBD is becoming more and more popular in all kinds of skin products, whether it’s for treating conditions like eczema and psoriasis, or cosmetic conditions like acne, anti-aging and sensitive skin. It’s also becoming more common to see CBD being used to treat muscle pain, whether it’s for sports-related injuries, pulls or sprains. These products come in all shapes and forms, including balms.
A CBD balm is a soothing and softening emollient which is made from CBD oil mixed together with essential oils and natural products. Our product is a natural alternative to over the counter balms. It contains a unique blend of PCR hemp oil, coconut oil, beeswax, lavender oil and eucalyptus oil. It’s really easy to use – simply apply a thin layer to the affected area and massage gently. Although CBD balm can also be used together with other CBD products like capsules or drops, we find that balms are a practical, no-mess treatment! Plus, it’s a great alternative if you don’t like the taste of CBD oil or find it difficult to swallow capsules. We recommend applying the balm after a warm bath or shower to help the skin absorb it better.
Okay, so I’ve applied it to my skin. How does it actually work?
There are several ways in which CBD balm works. First of all, the physical and warming sensation when you apply the balm helps to reduce pain. Rubbing the balm in actually stimulates nerve endings, which in turn ‘drowns out’ pain signals. While you’re rubbing the balm in, you’re also helping your skin absorb the active ingredients in the balm.
As the CBD oil is being absorbed by the skin, it’s also interacting with your endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid receptors are found all over the body including in skin cells, skin nerve fibers, hair follicles and oil and sweat glands. Having such a large concentration of endocannabinoid receptors in the skin makes it pretty useful for absorbing CBD. Once absorbed, CBD has a soothing and anti-inflammatory effect. In our balm, the natural ingredients like lavender and eucalyptus oil can also help to soften and soothe the skin.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when using CBD balm:
- Avoid applying CBD balm to broken skin, as this may cause stinging
- Avoid touching your eyes while you have the balm on your hands
- It’s always best practise to wash your hands after applying the balm
